Amanda Higgins, a senior human ecology major from Sparta, received a URECA award at Tennessee Tech University’s 10th annual Student Research Day. The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity program provides monetary assistance for undergraduates who pursue research and creative activities at TTU. Award recipients will receive financial support for their research initiatives in the form of a mini-grant. Higgins’ research is titled “Establishment of Lactation Rooms on Tennessee Technological University Campus.” More than 170 Tennessee Tech University students presented the results of their semester work. Over 60 URECA awards were granted; about 30 awards were given for poster presentations.
