William Oscar Tabers

William Oscar Tabers, 89, of Sparta, passed away peacefully, on Dec. 2, 2018, at Life Care Center of Sparta.

Mr. Tabers was born Feb. 24, 1929 in St Louis, Missouri, to Mary Jones and Lloyd Tabers.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, attended George Washington University, and retired from Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association after 28 years of service as a systems analyst.

Mr. Tabers was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Jerry Lynn and William Howard.

Survivors include his devoted friend of 58 years, Johnny Brown; three cherished nieces, Linda, Kitty, Mary Ann; and his loyal Labrador, Jack.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sparta will be assisting the friends and family with honoring Mr. Taber’s wishes of cremation.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
