William Robert “Bobby” Robinson Jr.

William Robert “Bobby” Robinson Jr., 71, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 10, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Robinson was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Sparta, to William Robert Robinson and Geneva Randolph Robinson.

He graduated with a master’s degree from Tennessee Tech University and began a teaching career at Doyle Elementary School. After the death of his father, he stopped teaching to help his mother with the family grocery store, Robinson’s Grocery. He was a sports fan, an avid reader, a history buff, and a world traveler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an uncle, Charles Robinson; and a best friend, Ronnie Clark.

Survivors include his daughter, Lindsay Robinson, of Brooklyn, New York; girlfriend, Marcy Flatt; mother of his daughter, Stefanie Worley; best friend, Mike Krabousanos; and a host of friends and longtime acquaintances.

There will be a time of visitation 2-5 p.m., Feb. 17, at Hunter Funeral Home, where friends and family can gather to tell stories and celebrate Mr. Robinson’s life. At Mr. Robinson’s request, he will be cremated following the visitation services.
