Willie Mae Sparks Sparkman

Willie Mae Sparks Sparkman, 86, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Jan. 7, 2018, at Life Care of Sparta, where she was a resident for the past four years.
Mrs. Sparkman was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Sparta, the daughter of J.T. Sparks and Laurine Young Sparks.
On Dec. 16, 1950, she married the love of her life, W.C. Sparkman, at Blue Springs Presbyterian Church.
As a couple, they pursued a career in dairy farming. Hilly View Farm, in Doyle, became the home where they would raise their three sons, Johnny, Gary, and Ryan Sparkman. Their farming legacy continues on today to the fifth generation. Mrs. Sparkman was a longtime member of Doyle First Baptist Church where she served her Lord. Her life centered around the farm and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. Sparks and Laurine Young Sparks; husband, W. C. Sparkman; mother-in-law, Pearl Dodson Sparkman; infant sister; and brother-in-law, Bob Oliver.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny and wife Susan, Gary and wife Vivian, all of Sparta, Ryan and wife Robin, of Springfield; grandchildren Jacob, Josh, Derrick, Daniel, Mackenzi, Nicholas, Brooklyn, Tyler, Faith, Logan; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Oliver, Jonelda Hutson and husband Bobby, all of Sparta; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Jan. 10, 2018, at Blue Springs Presbyterian Church, with burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. Bro. David Copeland will officiate. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Jan. 9, and 9 a.m.-noon, Jan. 10, at the funeral home.
Serving as pall bearers will be her 10 grandchildren.
