Marietta Katherine Carter, 74, of Doyle, passed away July 29, 2003, at White County Community Hospital.
Carter was born July 30, 1928, in White County, to Smith Rogers Swindell and Ethel Swope Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Knowles, of Doyle; one son, Edward Carter, of Vonore; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m., July 31, 2003, at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Wilhite officiated.

Simmons was born June 22, 1944, in McMinnville, to Dillon Simmons and Josephine Black Simmons Ford.
She had been a homemaker.

Blanche Bandy Howard, 82, of Sparta, passed away July 18,2003, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville.
Howard was born June 7, 1921, in White County, to Otis Sullivan Bandy and Huda Simms Bandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arvil Curtis Howard; sister, Alice Bandy Copeland; brothers, Otis G “Cy” Bandy, Robert Merrill Bandy, and James Smith Bandy; and daughter, Marilyn Howard Keathley.

Qualls was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Sparta, to Robert Odell and Dorothy Randolph Qualls.
He had been a brick mason.
