Nina Barnes Kendall, 71, passed away Aug. 26, 2006.
Kendall was born May 15, 1935, to Otha Cecil Barnes and Emma Lou Taylor Barnes.
She was remembered for her wit and sense of humor even in the face of tragedy. She suffered many illnesses during her life but miraculously managed to persevere and never lost interest in living. She will always be an inspiration to those who knew her.
Kendall was preceded in death by her parents and grandfather, Jourdon Jefferson Barnes.
Survivors include four children, Rhonda Sparks Dunn, of Dallas, Gregory Layne Sparks Sr., of Vicksburg, Miss., Sue Sparks Worline, of Allen, Texas, and Emmala Sparks Henry, … CONTINUED

Professional photographer Tom Smith is more than just another shutterbug as he takes pictures while piloting a plane 1,000 feet in the air.
Smith has always loved to fly planes and is a flight instructor. A few years ago, he decided to couple his talent and love for flying with taking photographs, and he created an unusual and exciting way to make a living. Tennessee Aerial Photos is the name of Smith’s business
“I have two major clients,” said Smith, “real estate agents and construction companies.”

Clay Hickey

Clay Hickey, 83, passed away Aug. 30, 2006, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Hickey was born June 29, 1923, in Putnam County, to Elijah Joshua Hickey and Hautie Caroline Foster Hickey.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and worked as a logger for many years.
Hickey was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Caroline Hickey, of Scottsboro, Ala. and Clada Ruth Cole, of Sparta; one son, James Arnold Hickey, of Sparta; one brother, Leslie Pleasant Hickey, of Fall Creek Falls; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were 11 a.m., Sept. 2, 2006, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial … CONTINUED
