Willie Royce Redmon, 65, of Warren County, passed away March 3, 2007, at River Park Hospital, in McMinnville.
Redmon was born October 19, 1941, in Smithville, to Charlie Rostin Redmon and Ova Lorene Slatton.
He was retired as manager from DeZurick Corp and a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
Redmon was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bettye Prater; and two brothers, John and Calvin Redmon.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Cantrell; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Russell Barkes; two grandsons, Wesley Colt Royce Southard and Christopher James Derick Southard; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey and Easton Knowles, of Smithville, and Charlene and Melvin Pickett; … CONTINUED

John Thomas Moody

John Thomas Moody, 87, passed away March 1, 2007, at NHC of Sparta.
Moody was born Aug. 13, 1919, to Lillard Moody and Daisy Johnson Moody, of Sparta.
He received the Purple Heart for his service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Pacific Campaign in World War II. He was also a member of DeRossett Church of Christ. Moody was retired from General Motors.
Survivors include wife, Christine Brock Flatt Moody; four stepsons, Jerry E. Flatt, of Hendersonville, Charles Michael Flatt, of Sparta, Ricky Dale Flatt, of Mt. Juliet, and Jimmy Dewayne Flatt, of Sparta; one stepdaughter, Barbara Phillips, of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.… CONTINUED

John W. Shaffield, 87, of Sparta, passed away Feb. 23, 2007, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Shaffield was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Birmingham, Ala.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and a former president of Sparta Spoke Factory and owner of Hickory Valley Outlet, in Sparta.
Survivors include wife, Laverne Shaffield; three daughters, Judy Sewell, Linda Cook, Janice Shaffield; two sons, Bill and Gary Shaffield, all of Sparta; two brothers, Lawrence and Edward Shaffield, of Alabama; 10 grandchildren, Doug Elam, Edward Elam, Brett Chanell, Jennifer Johnson, David Cook, Billy Cook, Vicki Hatfield, Stephanie Irvin, Jacob Shaffield and Elizabeth Shaffield; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.… CONTINUED
