WCMS shut out by North Scott

WCMS shut out by North Scott
The White County Middle School football team struggled to get anything going offensively Tuesday against North Scott and suffered a 14-0 defeat in Central Tennessee Conference action.
The first series of the contest proved to be a sign of things to come for the Warrior offense. WCMS went three and out and was forced to punt. They would not run another play in the first quarter.

Warriors vs. Cavaliers this Friday

Ready to do battle. The Warriors will be geared up and ready to do battle on the gridiron when the neighboring Cavaliers come to the town for the annual rivalry game. In addition to bragging rights, the contest is the first District 6AAA game of the season. The two were the coaches’ preseason picks for the top two spots in the league. Kick off is slated for 7 p.m. in Warrior Stadium.

The headline says it all.

Golf team keeps on winning

Working on the short game. Allison Geer, shown above during a recent golf match, has helped lead the Warriorette golf team to a 12-1 record. The senior will play her final home match Thursday at the Sparta Country Club.

The White County High School golf team added more wins to their worksheet on Monday when they traveled to the McMinnville Country Club to take on Warren County and Coffee County.
Both the Warriors and Warriorettes came away victorious on the afternoon over both their opponents.
The Warriorettes picked up a pair of relatively easy victories winning by 13 strokes over the Lady Pioneers and took the 41-stroke win … CONTINUED

WCHS soccer wins at Macon Co.

Eye on the ball. Kaitlin Heath has her eyes focused firmly on the soccer ball during a recent WCHS game. Heath scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Macon County Tuesday.

The Warriorette soccer team hit the road for the first time this season and came home with a win.
WCHS improved to 2-1 overall on the season with the 2-1 victory over Macon County in Lafayette on Tuesday.
Kaitlin Heath netted both goals for WCHS with Annalee Cunningham getting the assist on one of those.
According to Coach Amber Lannom, “Jerrica Swift played awesome in goal. She had more than 20 saves in the game.”

WCHS volleyball adds two more wins

After opening the season with a pair of disappointing losses, the Warriorette volleyball team has responded by winning seven out of their last eight matches.
Five of those wins came last weekend in the White County Invitational Tournament, but this week the Warriorettes added two more regular season wins. On Monday, they picked up their first District 6AAA victory by defeating Cumberland County 3-1. They then stepped out of district play Tuesday when they hosted Cannon County and recorded the 3-0 victory.
