Clifford “Cliff” Kirscher Bechtel, 72 passed away Sept. 11, 2014, at his home in Quebeck.
Mr. Bechtel was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Roland, Ohio to Clifford Bechtel and Helen Rose Cain Bechtel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Betty Jo Bechtel; and brothers, Art Bechtel and Bob Bechtel.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Kelly Curtis, of Sparta; sons, Clifford Arthur Bechtel and wife Desire, of Smithville, Ronnie Lee Bechtel, of Quebeck; brothers and sisters, Emily McGuire, Joe Bechtel, MiMi Bechtel, Helen Bechtel, Jerry Bechtel, Max Bechtel, Richard Bechtel; grandchildren, Devin Jerido, Daylan Curtis, Clifford Steven Bechtel, Brittany Smale, Jeremy Lee Bechtel; … CONTINUED

After the Warriors had taken a one-point lead with just over two minutes left on a Randin Seibers’ touchdown and a two-point conversion, the Tigers roared down the field and scored with 10 seconds remaining to steal back the 27-22 win. Casey Thomas Cunningham, 36 of the Gum Springs community of White County, passed away Sept. 11, 2014, at Memorial Health Care System, in Chattanooga.
Mr. Cunningham was born July 21, 1978, in Cookeville, to Sandra Gale Young Cunningham and Floyd T. Cunningham.
Survivors include his mother, Sandy Cunningham, of Sparta; sisters, Veronica Cunningham, Tracy Cunningham, Britteny Cunningham; brother, Thomas Cunningham; grandmothers, Ruth Young, Reba Cunningham; grandfather, Roy Young; grandmother, Peaches Young; nieces, Megan Moore, Shelby Randolph; nephews, Austin Cunningham, J.T. Randolph; special friend, Pat Pollard; and several aunts, uncles and friends.

Several western authors from Middle Tennessee will be in the Upper Cumberland on Sat., Sept. 20, to sign copies of their books- particularly copies of the anthology series Western Tales!, published by Western Trail Blazer, as well as other titles.
They will appear at Riverbank Books in Sparta from 1 to 4 pm, then at Foxleaf Books in Cookeville from 5 to 8 p.m. Authors include:
