WCMS homecoming photo gallery

The White County Middle School football team celebrated homecoming 2014 with a 48-24 victory over Tullahoma on Tuesday at Warrior Stadium.

The win improved the Jr. Warriors to a perfect  4-0 on the season and are 3-0 in the Central Tennessee Conference.  Also included in the festivities was the crowning of queen, Hannah Brewington, and the presentation of the entire homecoming court.

Photos from the homecoming night at Warrior Stadium are attached .  These photos are available for purchase at the Expositor office either as prints or on a photo disk.

The Warriors will return to action Tuesday, September 16th, when they host Harris Middle School from Shelbyville.… CONTINUED


Warriorette volleyball photo gallery

The White County High School volleyball team was in action at Roy Sewell Gymnasium twice this week splitting the two games.

The Warriorettes were defeated 3-0 by Livingston Academy on Monday, but bounced back to pick up a 3-2 District 6AAA win over Stone Memorial on Thursday.  The Warriorettes are now 9-7 overall on the season and are 3-3 in the district race.

Soccer vs. Cookeville photo gallery

The White County High School girls’ soccer team hosted Distirct 6AAA foe and archrival, Cookeville, Tuesday, September 9th.

The Lady Cavaliers scored two goals in each half on the way to the 4-0 victory.  The loss dropped the Warriorettes to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the district.

The Warriorettes were originally scheduled to host York Institute on Thursday, but weather has forced postponement of that match to a date to be announced later.

WCHS football vs. Rhea County photo gallery

The White County High School football team hosted Rhea County Friday, September 5th, for their District 6AAA opener.  The Golden Eagles handed the Warriors a disappointing 41-7 loss dropping WCHS to 1-2 on the season.

The Warriors will try to get things back on track this Friday when they host DeKalb County in a non conference tilt.

Photos from last Friday’s football game and the halftime band performance are included in the attached photo gallery.  Those photos are available for purchase at the Expositor office.  They can either be purchased as individual prints (5×7 or 8×10) or on a photo disk (5 or more pictures).

WCHS golf photo gallery

The White County High School golf team has put the regular season in the books.  They wrapped up the 2014 season by taking on Cookeville at Riverwatch on Thursday.

The Warriors and Warriorettes start postseason play Monday in the District 6AAA tournament, which will be played at the Cookeville Golf Club.  See Monday’s paper for tee times.  The top three teams and top five individuals not on those teams will earn a spot in the region tournament, which will be the following week in Chattanooga.

WCHS Football at Livingston photo gallery

The White County High School football team traveled to Livingston on Friday, August 29th, to take on the Wildcats.

Livingston Academy showed why they are picked to win their league by defeating the Warriors 34-7.  The Warriors trailed only 7-0 at the half, but the Wildcats pulled away in the second half.  Their lone score was a touchdown pass from Trenton Hodges to Logan Swoape in the closing minutes of the contest.

Golf splits with Cookeville

The golf teams had to endure a rain delay, but managed to get in nine holes against Cookeville at Riverwatch on Thursday.

The Warriorettes picked up the two-stroke victory over the Lady Cavaliers while the Warriors were defeated by 22 strokes.

The teams will begin postseason play Monday when they compete in the District 6AAA tournament at Cookeville Country Club.


Warriorettes get district win

The Warriorette volleyball team defeated visiting Stone Memorial 3-2 Thursday in District 6AAA action.  That improves WCHS to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the district.

Woodmen donate Veterans Park flags for 9/11

Representatives of Woodmen of the World, along with city and county leaders, came together for a dedication of military flags, the American flag and the POW/MIA flag and flag poles at the new Rotary Club Veterans Park. The event took place along with a memorial service for Patriot Day. Woodmen of the World have donated the flags and poles for the park, which is still under construction.


WCHS soccer game cancelled
