Girl Scouts meeting dates

This is the meeting schedule for any girls interested in joining Girl Scouts grades K-12:
•Oct. 3 at Northfield, 5 p.m.
•Oct. 6 at Central View, 5 p.m.
•Oct. 6 at Woodland Park, 5:30 p.m.
•Oct.8 at Findlay, 5:30 p.m.
•Oct. 9 at BonDeCroft, 6 p.m.
•Oct. 10 at Cassville, 5:30 p.m.
Girl Scouts will also have a booth at the Liberty Square Celebration.

WCSD warns of new phone scam

Detective Chris Isom, of White County Sheriff Department, is warning residents of a phone scam that has targeted White County residents. Allegedly, an individual has called residents, claiming to be a lieutenant with the Williamson County Sheriff Department. This individual has reportedly told residents that there are warrants for their arrests, but that they can be cleared up if a sizeable fee is paid. “This is a scam,” Isom states. The Sheriff Department is currently investigating this scam and Isom states that the lieutenant at the Williamson County Sheriff Department that the individual has addressed himself as does not exist. In 1974, the White County High School student council was led by President Gary Sparkman, who today serves as the Chairman of the White County School Board. Sparkman, along with council sponsor Mabel Moore, honored the teachers at White County with a welcome back tea.

Oktoberfest time again in Crossville

Preparations are underway in Crossville, TN for Oktoberfest – 2014 high atop the Cumberland Plateau. Reserve the dates of October 10th and 11th for your dining, dancing and listening pleasure, at The Knights of Columbus Activity Park, located at 2892 Highway 70 East in Crossville (Exit 322 off I-40, south to Hwy 70, then 1/3 mile east). The festivities will kick off with the traditional tapping of the keg at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 10th. Lomas facing warrant for contributing to delinquency of a minor

Enrique A. Lomas, the 21-year-old male who was reportedly believed to be with Olivia Hope Barber, the 17-year-old White County teenager that had been reported missing this morning,  has an active warrant for his arrest for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Sparta Police Chief Jeff Guth. Guth confirmed that Barber has been located in Lebanon, and that law enforcement officials are currently working out arrangements for her to leave Lebanon.
