Mearline Hibdon Dodson, 74 of Quebeck, passed away Sept. 7, 2015, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. in McMinnville.
Mrs. Dodson was born July 6, 1941, in White County.
She is preceded in death by her father, Toy Hibdon; mother, Alma Rittenberry Young; sister, Rita; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years Fred Dodson, of Quebeck; four daughters, Mary Evon Mandoza, Kimberly (Micheal) Parks, Lisa (Alan) Lytle, Janie (Tony) Whitman; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Bobby, Verlia, Mildred, Marie; and several nieces and nephews.

William “Billy” Earl Anderson, 69, of Sparta, passed away Sept. 6, 2015, at his home due to complications of lung cancer.
Mr. Anderson was born Feb. 25, 1946, in Nashville, and grew up in Jackson County, Tennessee.
He graduated from Jackson County High School, in 1964, where he was a member of the state tournament basketball team, the number five student in his class, and a Boys State Representative.
After high school, he attended Tennessee Tech before beginning his work with the Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After 30-plus years, he retired in 2005.

Casper “Cap” Sewell, 95, of Cookeville, passed away Sept. 5, 2015.
Mr. Sewell was a member of North East Church of Christ, in Cookeville. He was a charter member of Farragut Church of Christ.
After his retirement from the Federal Land Bank, in 1982, he returned to what he loved the most – farming, training and showing mules with his brothers and his grandsons.
Mr. Sewell was a very proud “Daddy” of seven daughters.

An exhibition of new work by nearly 40 women artists in three venues in downtown Cookeville all opening on the same day — that’s an artistic event nearly as ambitious as its namesake, artist Sally Crain-Jager.
The “Sally Forth” exhibit opens Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center on Broad Street, at the Putnam County Library on Broad Street, and at the Magical Muse gallery on Cedar Avenue. All three locations will host opening receptions 6-9 p.m., allowing dedicated patrons an opportunity to attend each.

A survivor, a rescuer and a child who were hidden from the Nazis will come to Tennessee Tech University, on Oct. 1, 2015, to share their memories and experiences of the Holocaust.
Danielle Kahane-Kaminsky, executive director of the state’s Holocaust Commission, will moderate the panel. The conversation begins at 7 p.m., in the Roaden University Center’s first-floor Tech Pride Room, 1000 N. Dixie Ave., in Cookeville.
The event is free and open to the public.
