Beatrice (Bea) Margeson Marcum

Beatrice (Bea) Margeson Marcum, 84 of Sparta, passed away Jan. 21, 2011, at River Park Hospital, in McMinnville.
Mrs. Marcum was born June 9, 1926, in Van Buren County, to Lewis David Margeson and Emma Louise Wheeler Margeson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, John Ray Marcum; sisters, Alma D. Armstrong, Mary Tinney Vance, Kathlene Margeson; and brothers, Herbert Margeson, Lewis Margeson Jr., Roy Thomas (Bud) Margeson and Donald Margeson.
Survivors include brothers, David Margeson and wife Gail, Willie J. Margeson, all of Walling; sister-in-law, Monnie Margeson, of Sparta; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 11 a.m., Jan. 24, 2011, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Alton Marcum officiated. Pallbearers were James Margeson, Charles Parrish, Robert Margeson, Danny Wagner, Roger Griffin, James Griffin and Billy Griffin.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Carrie Mae Denton
Carrie Mae Denton, 65, a resident of Sparta, passed away Jan. 21, 2011, at White County Community Hospital.
Mrs. Denton was born Jan. 27, 1945, in Campbell County, to Charlie and Lillie Welden McGill.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herman Denton.
Survivors include daughter, Tracy Denton, of Sparta; three sons, Ricky Denton, of Cookeville, Randy Denton, of Walling, Dickie Denton, of Watertown; two brothers, Johnny McGill, of Sparta, Joe McGill, of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Alice McGill, of Sparta; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was 2 p.m., Jan. 24, 2011, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Copeland Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Freddie Copeland officiated.
Pallbearers were Ross Denton, Randy Lynn Denton, James McGill, Glen Young, Michael Williams and Jonathan Williams.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
