Bertha Hale Cummings, 84, of Spencer, passed away May 1, 2005.
Cummings was born September 23, 1920, in Van Buren County, to Jeff Hale and Mary Yates Hale.
She was a retired factory worker and homemaker.
Cummings was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Cummings; one son, Robert Edward Cummings; two grandsons, David Earl Dishman and Michael Edward Cummings; two sons-in-law, Seaborn Miller and F.D. Shockley.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kelley and Jewell Hennessee or Rock River, Oddie and Stella Shoupe of Sparta, and Bettye Shockley of Spencer; three grandsons, Lynn and Pat Millraney of Sparta, Terry Cummings of Spencer and Andy Lee and Jacqueline Shoupe of Murfreesboro; one granddaughter, Courtney Dishmann of Spencer; two great grandchildren, Donna Gail Cummings of Monteagle and Jeffrey Lynn Millramey of Spencer; six step-grandchildren, Angie Schopieray and Deirdre Borter, both of Cookeville, Kyle Shoupe of Sparta, Annette Hennessee of Woodbury, Kendal Hennessee of Rock River, and Terry Hennessee of Mooresville, Ala.; one dear friend and roommate, Lassie Hobbs; and 13 step great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m., May 3, 2005 at Love-Cantrell and Cope Spencer Chapel with burial in Town Cemetery. Pastor Don Kelley will officiate.
Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
