Catching up with Little League baseball and softball

There has been plenty of action over the past several weeks at the Sparta Little League complex.
The following are the results that have been provided by the league about the Little League baseball and softball leagues (11/12 year olds).
In Little League baseball action, Red Turner’s, who currently sits undefeated atop the league standings, opened the season with a 12-1 win over Hunter Funeral Home. Also on that same night, Trenton Hodge pitched a no hitter for Savage Building Center as they defeated Sonic 2-0.
On April 16th, Red Turner’s captured a 10-3 win over Bill Boruff. Not to be outdone by his teammate, Zack Lynn threw a no hitter for Savage as they defeated Hunter Funeral Home 7-0.
Behind an Allen Frazier homerun, Sonic edged Bill Boruff 3-2 on April 17th.
In action from April 20th, Sonic narrowly defeated Hunter Funeral Home 8-7 while Bill Boruff captured a 6-4 victory over Savage.
Red Turners’ rolled to the 11-1 win over Sonic on April 23rd. In the second game, Hunter Funeral Home notched a 14-2 win over Bill Boruff.
Boruff bounced back to defeat Sonic 2-0 on the 27th while Red Turners shut out Hunter’s 9-0.
Wrapping up action in the month of April, Savage defeated Sonic 6-2 and Hunter’s escaped with a slim 2-1 win over Boruff’s.
Action in the month of May opened up with a 17-2 Sonic win over Hunter’s. Frazier again homered for Sonic.
The night’s second game saw Red Turner’s narrowly escape with a 3-2 win over Boruff’s. The game was tied at two after the regulation six innings. Red Turner’s scored in the bottom of the eighth when Jacob Bouldin led off the inning with a walk and scored on a single by Will Slatten.
On May 7th, Savage picked up an 11-5 win over Hunter’s. Red Turner’s remained perfect with a 6-3 win over Sonic.
The following day, Savage recorded a 4-0 shut out win over Bill Boruff.
Action on the 11th saw Savage defeat Hunter’s 12-2. Tyler Randolph pitched a no hitter as Red Turner’s defeated Bill Boruff 12-0.
On the 14th, Savage edged Sonic 3-1 while Hunter’s narrowly defeated Bill Boruff 7-6.
Sonic came back on the 17th to hand Bill Boruff a 5-2 defeat. Savage defeated Hunter Funeral Home 9-7 on May 18th.
On May 21st, Zack Lynn threw his second no hitter of the season when Savage defeated Sonic 6-0. Earlier on that night, Red Turner’s defeated Boruff 6-2.
Action from May 22nd saw Red Turner’s take a 12-1 win over Sonic and then turn around and defeat Hunter’s 14-3.
In Little League girls’ softball on April 13th, Bill Boruff rolled to a 22-6 win over Sonic while First National Bank defeated KFC 12-1.
On April 15th, First National Bank picked up an 18-9 win over Citizen’s Bank followed by Savage Building Company, who took a 13-2 win over KFC.
Bill Boruff defeated Citizen’s Bank 16-5 on April 16th. In the nightcap, Don Randolph edged Savage 15-14.
In action on the 17th of April, FNB picked up a 13-4 win over Sonic. On April 20th, Citizen’s Bank defeated Sonic 18-4 followed by a 19-0 win by Boruff’s over KFC.
Sarah Wilson pitched a no hitter for FNB as they shut out Don Randolph 14-0 on April 22nd. The second game of the day was an 11-7 win by Savage over KFC.
Action on the 23rd saw Citizen’s Ban defeat KFC 16-8 followed by a 17-10 win by Don Randolph over Sonic.
Boruff’s defeated Don Randolph 14-4 on April 2nd. KFC edged Savage 18-17 in the second game of the day.
On April 29th, Citizen’s Bank defeated Savage 9-5. FNB handed Boruff’s their first loss of the season by a score of 11-7.
Don Randolph took a 15-8 win over KFC on April 30th followed by FNB, who defeated Citizen’s Bank, 10-6.
On May 4th, FNB defeated Savage 14-7 while Citizen’s Bank took a 9-6 victory over Don Randolph.
KFC slipped by Sonic 12-11 on May 7th. Boruff’s rolled to a 23-12 win over Don Randolph.
May 8th saw a quadruple header. Bill Boruff opened with a 19-0 win over Savage. Citizen’s Bank followed with a 23-6 victory over KFC. Boruff’s was back in action with a 14-12 win over Sonic. Don Randolph wrapped up with a 13-9 win over Savage.
On May 11th Bill Boruff defeated Sonic 11-1 followed by FNB’s 16-3 win over KFC. May 13th saw Don Randolph defeated KFC 19-10 while Citizen’s Bank picked up a 17-13 win over Sonic.
KFC bounced back from their loss a week earlier to defeat Sonic 12-10. The following day, Citizen’s Bank edged FNB 7-6. Bill Boruff added a 21-7 win over Savage.
May 22nd featured a triple-header. FNB narrowly defeated Sonic 12-11, which was the identical score by which Citizen’s Bank defeated Don Randolph. The week wrapped up with a 15-2 win by Bill Boruff over KFC.
