15 Warrior football players receive 6AAA honors

Assistant Coach of the Year. Warrior defensive coordinator, Josh Hackett, was voted by the other coaches in 6AAA as the Assistant of the Year.

Overall MVP. Warrior senior, Blake Lynn, was voted the overall Most Valuable Player of District 6AAA. He shared the honor with Rhea County’s Demitrious Patterson.

District 6AAA accolades rolled in for 15 of White County’s football players when the coaches in the league got together to vote on the postseason honor squad.
Fifteen different members of the maroon and gray squad received honors from the coaches, including one coach and five players that received superlative recognition.

Memorable Warrior football season comes to a close

Touching moments after the game. The Warrior football team had a hard time coming to the realization that their season was over. The seniors were overtaken with emotion of having played their final game in the maroon and gray. Coach Houser and his team shared a close bond this season and it showed on the field as the team turned in the best season in more than 30 years with their 8-3 record, a home playoff game and streak-ending win over Cookeville.

Hard to see it all end. Emotions were at a high as the Warrior football season came to an end Friday night on Dee Harris Field.

Warriors ousted by Raiders

Blake Lynn added 140 yards to his total for the season, but the Cleveland Raiders went to the air to end the Warriors' history making season. The Raiders took the 42-8 victory ending the WCHS season with a record of 8-3.

The White County High School football team saw thier most successful season in over 30 years come to an end Friday night on Dee Harris Field at the hands of Cleveland by a score of 42-8

Warrior coach, Matthan Houser, was voted the Tennessee Titans High School Coach of the Week for the Warriors' huge win over Cookeville.

Warrior Nation stepped up huge again this week.
After helping cheer their football team on to a big victory over Cookeville last Friday night, the fans of White County High School football showed their appreciation for the coach of the Warriors for leading his team to that win.
Second year Warrior head coach, Matthan Houser, was voted the Tennessee Titans High School Coach of the Week by football fans all across the state of Tennessee.

Warriors host first ever playoff game

The second season begins. For the first time ever, when the second season begins for football teams across the state, the Warriors will be hosting one of those playoff games. WCHS will host Cleveland Friday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the TSSAA Class 5A playoffs.

If the White County High School Warriors are to reach another team goal and set another program record, they must take down the state’s fifth ranked Class 5A team, the Cleveland Blue Raiders.
The Warriors (8-2) earned the right to host their first ever playoff game, but their reward for doing so is getting a visit from the Blue Raiders. … CONTINUED

Celebrating hosting a playoff game. After their win on the football Friday night, the Warriors were up early Saturday morning and gathered to watch the playoff bracket announcement. They found out they will be the first Warrior football team to ever host a playoff game. WCHS hosts Cleveland Friday at 7 p.m.

The 2013 version of the White County High School football team has met many of their team goals and has done several things that haven’t been done in a while, but they have one record that is all theirs in the history of the program.

A time to celebrate. The Warrior football players cannot control their enthusiasm as time expires on the shut out win over the Cookeville Cavaliers. It was the first win over their arch rivals since 1995. Very few of the current players were even born when that last win occurred. The victory improves the Warriors to 8-2 in the regular season as they head into the playoffs. It is the first eight win season since 1980.

Let the celebration begin. The Warrior football team starts to celebrate their win over the Cavaliers as the final seconds tick away on Friday's game.

After 17 years of frustration against their archrivals, the Warrior football team ended that Friday night at Warrior Stadium with a 13-0 victory over the Cookeville Cavaliers.
The win gives the Warriors a second place in District 6AAA and pretty much guarantees them a home playoff game. 
The playoff brackets are to be announced Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Warriors versus Cavaliers. Warrior Stadium will be the place to be Friday night. The annual rivalry game between WCHS and Cookeville has much more at stake this season. Second place in the district and a home playoff game will be on the line when the two long-time rivals meet. Kick off is slated for 7 p.m.

The first game White County High School ever played on the football field was against a school from Putnam County and the team from Sparta won that game.
The White County High School Warriors are hoping the current edition of the team can duplicate that feat 104 years later.

No room to run. River Boruff and Jo Jo Matlock team up to make a tackle in the backfield during the Warriors’ 22-7 win over Stone Memorial on Friday. That sets up a District 6AAA regular season finale between WCHS and Cookeville this Friday on Dee Harris Field.

The White County High School football team got back in the win column following only their second loss of the season when they defeated visiting Stone Memorial 22-7 on a cold Friday night at Warrior Stadium.
