Bryan College bound. Warriorette shortstop, Kaitlyn Heath, recently inked a letter of intent to play softball for Bryan College. Joining Heath on signing day were her family and coaches. Pope racks up softball postseason honors again

It seems that at the end of each college softball season, Raven Pope is pulling in honors for her play on the softball diamond.
The 2011 graduate of White County High School just finished her junior season for the Tennessee Temple Crusaders and again her name dots the list of postseason glitter squads.
The centerfielder for the Crusaders was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Mid-East All Region team. She was also named the NCCAA and USCAA All American second teams. This is the third consecutive year that Pope has been a NCCAA second team All American. 6AAA Offensive Player of the Year. Kaitlyn Heath was voted by league coaches as the District 6AAA Offensive Player of the Year. She was also voted her team’s Most Valuable Player.

Softball teams to host Maroon-Gray Playday

As the official start of spring sports season draws closer, the two White County softball teams are gearing up for a big fundraiser on Saturday, Match 8th.
The White County High School and Middle School Warriorette teams will converge on the field at WCHS for 100 innings of Warriorette softball.
Sponsored by the On Deck Booster Club, the day of softball will be a fundraiser for the two schools’ teams.

Three Warriorettes named Softball All District

First team all district. Baylee Bain, Kaitlyn Heath and Kelsey Roberts were named to the District 6AAA Softball first team.

After the Warriorette softball season came to an end, it was announced that three Warriorettes were named to the All District 6AAA team.
Even though the team struggled at times this season, the good news is that all three of those that received honors are just juniors and will be back next season. In fact, the Warriorettes will return all their starters and most of their top reserves. There was only one senior, Sidney Taylor, on the WCHS team.

Raven Pope, a 2011 graduate of White County High School, just finished up her sophomore season of softball for Tennessee Temple University.
Pope had another standout season on the diamond for the Crusaders.
The centerfielder was not only named to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Mid-East Region team, but also earned second team NCCAA All-American honors for the second year in a row.
The Crusaders in just their second year of softball competition advanced to the Mid-East Region championship game losing to Union University in the title game.

Throwing from a knee. After making a diving stop during the District 6AAA softball tournament, WCHS shortstop, Kaitlyn Heath, throws to first from a knee. The Warriorette season ended with two losses in the tournament. They ended the season with an 8-26 mark.

The White County High School softball season came to a close last week in the District 6AAA tournament.
The Warriorettes lost their first two games in the double elimination tournament played at Cookeville High School.
Tournament play began on Thursday with the Warriorettes taking on Cumberland County in the game between the fourth and fifth seeds.

Already out. The Livingston base runner tries to get back to the base, but it was too late as WCHS shortstop, Kaitlyn Heath, had already applied the tag after the throw down from catcher, Baylee Bain, thwarting that steal attempt. Livingston, however, won the game 7-3.

As the Warriorette softball team heads into the final week of their regular season, they are coming off a split of a pair of non-district games that ended last week.
WCHS went on the road Thursday and got their eighth win of the season when they defeated Monterey 12-4. Back at home on Friday, they were not able to continue that momentum … CONTINUED

She’s safe! Sarah Wilson slides safely into second well ahead of the throw during the District 6AAA loss to Cumberland County. The Warriorettes did snap their losing streak over the weekend.

The Warriorette softball team extended their string of losses to 15 games, but then snapped that with three wins in the Duff Invitational in Cookeville over the weekend.
WCHS finished fifth in the tournament despite dropping their first game of the tournament in pool play.
The Warriorette softball team has been very busy of late having played seven games in four days.

The White County High School softball team continued their struggles at the plate against District 6AAA foe, Warren County, on Wednesday afternoon.
The game was a make-up rescheduled from earlier in the season. The Lady Pioneers came to Sparta and handed WCHS a 6-0 loss dropping them to 0-3 in 6AAA play.

For the second time in as many games, the Warriorette softball team struggled offensively and was shut out.
This time, the WCHS team fell by a score of 2-0 to Jackson County in Sparta on Monday. Each team managed only three hits, but the Blue Devilettes were able to plate two runs to take the win.

The Warriorette softball team was trying to snap a six-game losing streak Friday when they played host to visiting Franklin County.
The two teams were locked in a scoreless tie through six innings of play, but the Lady Rebels broke through for the winning run in the top of the seventh inning on an unearned run. They held WCHS scoreless again in the bottom of the seventh and left Sparta with the 1-0 victory.
