Cora Willis Roper

Cora Willis Roper, 94, of Hillsboro, passed away Feb. 1, 2011, at Medical Center of Manchester.
Mrs. Roper was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Hillsboro, to John and Maggie Henley Willis.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, in Hillsboro, and was retired from Coffee County Farm Bureau, where she was a secretary for many years.
Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Roper, who passed away in 1980; and two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Willis.
Survivors include two sons, Joe C. Roper and wife Linda, of Hillsboro, John Roper and wife Karen, of Sparta; three brothers, Jack Willis, Fred Willis and wife Louise, and Bob Willis and wife Carole, all of Hillsboro; four sisters, Jean Sullivan, of Manchester, Betty Jaggers, of Manchester, Chris Deadman, of Hillsboro, Ann Wells and Charles, of Manchester; five grandchildren, Lori (Gary) Wilson, Stacy (Jaime) Taylor, Travis (Kathleen) Roper, Justin (Lauren) Roper, and Lauren (Brandon) Grizzard; six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan Wilson, Makenzie and Jordan Taylor, and Kara and Callie Roper; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Feb. 3, 2011, at Manchester Funeral Home, with burial in Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Martin Bowlin and Bro. Don Schultz will officiate.
