At the end of last year, the members of First Community voted in Dan Kashner as their new pastor after the retirement of former minister Don Kelly. Dan has been married for 37 years to a wonderful lady named Judy, who instantly immersed herself in the women’s ministry and other church activities. Although they have only been with us a short while, the Kashners are not new to ministry.
“In this day and age” he said, “people are looking for more than just another experience. They want and need to see truth lived out. We want to demonstrate that Jesus Christ is real, and he is in the business of transforming lives and changing hearts. At First Community, our motto is love God, love people, and make disciples. It is wonderful as believers to know we will spend eternity in heaven, but that’s not enough. God’s design for us is to be overcomers; to be victorious in this life over problems, fears, doubts and other baggage weighing us down so that we can be a light and hope to others. God wants for us “Life, more abundant” John 10:10. We want to see people introduced to the freedom of a life in Christ which sets them free from the bondages they have in this life.”
First Community Church welcomes everyone who wishes to come and be part of God’s vision for his people to experience His Love, Grace and Goodness. For more information or questions about First Community, or if you are in need of prayer, call 931-738-3200.
