Laura M. Scott Tate, 89, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 18, 2019, at the NHC Healthcare of Sparta.
Mrs. Tate was born Jan. 24, 1929, in the Cherry Creek community of White County, to Aaron Erasmus Scott and Addie Lou Stone Scott.
She attended Plainview Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis Wallace Tate; and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Laurel Jo Tate (Morris) Hunter, of Sparta, Cynthia Lynn Tate, of Sparta; three grandchildren, Emilee (Darren) Rogers, Aimee Lynne Hunter, Ava Grace Tate; four great-grandsons; R.J., Porter, Nolan, and Duke Rogers; adopted son, Rudy Cruz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside service was 3 p.m., Jan. 21, 2019, at Robinson Chapel Cemetery. Earl Alverson officiated.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
