At approximately 6 p.m., July 27, 2004, Sgt. Travis Barker responded to a call about someone wielding a knife at North Camp Heights and South Young Street.
Barker came into contact with the victim, Bridgett Caldwell, 28, of Sparta at the Mapco station on Bockman Way. According to the report, Caldwell was traveling around Camp Heights showing her car to a friend when they met Timothy Dilldine driving in the opposite direction.
Witnesses stated Dilldine turned around and began chasing the Caldwell vehicle, maneuvered in front of and cut off the victim’s path, causing her to stop her vehicle. At this time, Dilldine was reported to have jumped onto the hood of the Caldwell car flashing a knife, threatening to kill Caldwell and her passenger.
The subject then reportedly slashed the front tires of the car, flattening them and then left the area.
Barker did not make contact with the subject and took out a warrant for his arrest.
According to Sparta Police Chief Jeff Guth, the following morning White County Sheriff deputies took Dilldine into custody. He was transported to White County Justice Center and charged with aggravated assault and vandalism over $800.
Dilldine appeared in White County General Sessions Court July 30, 2004, where his case was continued to Aug. 6, 2004.
