Mary Lou Phifer Duke, 70, of Doyle, passed away June 28, 2014, at Highlands Medical Center.
Mrs. Duke was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, Clarence Lee Phifer and Wilda Helen Owens Phifer.
She dedicated her life to her husband, family and faith. She was a member of Quebeck Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Owen Lee Phifer; and a sister Carol Authenreth.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Joe M. Duke, of Doyle; children and their spouses, Lyndell and Sonya Duke, of Doyle, Cindy and Billy Thomas, of Walling, Billy and Talonna Duke, of Doyle, Laura and Kemith Nelson, of Doyle; grandchildren, Derrek Parrish, Amanda Prater, Josh Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Jacob Duke, Daniel Duke, Jonah Duke; and great-grandchildren, Lucas West, Owen Prater, Westin Thomas; brothers, Sidney Phifer, John Phifer; sisters, Shirley Watson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., July 1, 2014, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Doyle Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., July 1, at the funeral home. David Bratcher will officiate.
Kemith Nelson, Josh Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Derrek Parrish, Jacob Duke and Daniel Duke will serve as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
