Doris Martha Watkins, 91, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 21, 2001, at White County Community Hospital.
Watkins was born March 17, 1910, in Pickett County, to Benjamin Harrison and Mattie Robins Harrison.
She was a retired school teacher.
Watkins was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Quinn Harrison.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan Johnson and one sister-in-law, Thelma Watkins of Somerset, Ky.
Graveside services were held at 9 a.m., Nov. 22, 2001, at Elrod Cemetery. Bro. Don Johnson officiated.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Jo Stacy, 44, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 25, 2001, at Vanderbilt Hospital.
Stacy was born July 1, 1957, in Painesville, Ohio.
She was a housekeeper.
Stacy was preceded in death by her father, Estelle K. Stacy.

Rubye Jewell Wright, 69, of Doyle, passed away Nov. 26, 2001.
Wright was born March 27, 1932, in Tennessee, to Charlie Theodore Clouse and Laura Young Clouse.
She had been employed at the Shirt Factory.
Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Buryl Houston Wright.

Pamela Faye “Pam” Wilson, 38, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 29, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Wilson was born May 30, 1963, in White County, to Jimmy Dodson and Dola Jean Bennett Dodson.
She attended East Sparta Church of God. Wilson was a cashier at Kroger.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Wilson of Sparta; parents, Jimmy and Dola Dodson of Sparta; one brother, Edward S. Dodson of Cookeville; one sister, Paula Henry of Sparta; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy and David Wilson.

Fredna Jewell Dewett, 64, of Sparta, passed away Dec. 1, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Dewett was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Coleman, Texas, to Fredd and Hazel Hallmark Jewell.
She was a retired secretary.
Dewett was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Lee Dewett; one son, Lewis Lee Dewett Jr. and her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Dewett of Sparta and Vance Dewett of Baycliff, Texas; two daughters, Geneva Holsto f Sparta and Rosetta Stevenson of Splendora, Texas; one sister, Toni Tuttle of Splendora, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Glin Dallas Emerton, 70, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Nov. 27, 2001.
Emerton was born July 14, 1931, in Celina, to Joe and Linnie Goolsby Emerton.
He served in the United States Air Force. Emerton was retired from Conrail after serving as customer service representative for 28 years. He taught school for two years in Clay County and also served as principal for four years. Emerton played football for Western Kentucky and graduated from Tennessee Technological University.
Emerton was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Keith Emerton;
three sisters, Rose Copeland, Elsa Hampton and Thelma Jo Emerton; and one brother, Howard Willis Emerton.

Boyd was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Elkridge, W. Va., to William Howard Oney and Bertie Ellen Collins.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Samuel Peter Boyd.

Elmer Eastwood Humphrey, 91, of Stanford, Ky., formerly of Sparta, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Stanford Nursing Home.
Humphrey was born October 17, 1910, in Sparta, to Amon F. and Lela Mary Johnson Humphrey.
He was a member of The Baptist Church in Walling. Humphrey served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was retired from self-employment as a Tennessee Walking Horse trainer and farmer.
Humphrey was preceded in death by one son, Gaines Moore Humphrey.

George Finley Wilmoth, 80, of Walling, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at White County Community Hospital.
Wilmoth was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Overton County, to William Finley and Nancy Lou Judd Wilmoth.
He was a farmer.
Wilmoth was preceded in death by his parents and three sons, Leonard Wilmoth Sr., William Thomas Wilmoth and Earl Reed Wilmoth.

Thomas Merritt Parker Jr., 38, of Sparta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001.
Parker was born April 25, 1963, in Sparta, to Thomas Merritt Parker Sr. and Georgina Kimsey Parker.
He was a laborer.
Survivors include one son, Thomas M. Parker III of Sparta; one brother, Richard T. Howard of Newport Beach, Calif. and one sister, Katherine S. Howard of Sparta.
Services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery. Rev. Susan Gardner officiated.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Sue Rigsby, 58, of Spencer, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Erlanger Hospital.
Rigsby was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Van Buren County, to Walter Sullivan and Novella Green Sullivan.
She attended the Methodist Church and was retired from Textron Fastening System.
