Rough night in Lebanon for WCHS teams

Loose ball battle. Jessica Wilson battles it out for a loose ball with a Lebanon player in Tuesday's game.

As the temperatures were dropping near single digits Tuesday night, the Warriors and Warriorettes found things just as cold inside Campbell Brandon Gymnasium in Lebanon.
The WCHS teams dropped both ends of a District 7AAA doubleheader.
The Warriorettes trailed by only two at the half, but saw Lebanon stretch the advantage out to as many as 11 points in the third and led by nine at the end of the period.  The Warriorettes battled back only to come up short by a score of 58-52.  Lacy Yslas paced the Warriorettes with 14 points.
The loss dropped WCHS into a fourth place tie with Siegel in the district race. The Warriorettes are 19-6 overall and 6-5 in the district.
In the nightcap, it was all Lebanon.  The Warriors led 2-0, but from there, the Blue Devils took charge.  They turned a 10 point first quarter lead into a 26 point advantage at the half.  The Warriors would never mount any threat of a comeback in the second half as Lebanon finished with the 72-36 win.
The loss drops the Warriors into a fifth place tie with Riverdale.  WCHS is 10-14 overall and 4-7 in the district.
Look for complete details of the games in Thursday’s edition.
WCHS stays on the road Friday with a trip to Murfreesboro to take on Riverdale.
