A pre-election warning

On the eve of the most important presidential election in our lifetime, as both a concerned citizen and American patriot, I am using the format of my Opinion Article to put forth a dire warning.  My love of God, country, family, friends, and the American people compels me to do so.  I ask that you give serious consideration to what I have to say, before you vote.

Am I trying to scare you?  Indeed, I am and for good reason.  I am not clairvoyant, but I can see the future.  It is found in the past, if we take the time to look and learn.  In this instance, thanks to the hindsight of our Founding Fathers and their incredible vision of the future, I am not talking about the mirrored history of our highly envied congressional federal republic.  Instead, I refer you to the past and present blight of socialism, communism, Marxism, and atheism on the word stage.

Why so?  Because, for the first time in our history as a country, our scheduled Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election is a choice to (A) retain our revered and time-authenticated form of government (a constitutional federal republic) and our economic stability (capitalism), or (B) adopt socialism/communism, the scourge of the free world; i.e. a form of government in which all power will rests in a large central government (eventually a dictatorship).  Recorded history of socialism/communism shows us there will be little, if any, citizen input into how the government is run. If the Socialists, masquerading as Democrats, are able to fool their do-as-your-told grassroots supporters, a modern version of the old Soviet Union, which collapsed in 1991, leaving 15 struggling and poverty ridden republics.  It has now been 29 years since these republics, but the inbred rot of socialism still lingers.  They would give anything to change places with us and our form of government, our economy, our freedoms, our stand of living, etc.  Sixty-nine years of poverty and political slavery is hard to recover from.

So I ask you, why would you even think of voting for a Socialist or Communist political party and their candidates?  In this instance, I am speaking of our country’s former Democrat Party.  Socialism and communism have failed where it has been tried.  If you want to commit political and economic suicide, go ahead, but don’t take me, my family and friends, and other Americans with you.

If there are those among us who have to experience socialism and see it for themselves, I urge them to invest a little money and time to travel to  Russia, Cuba, Venezuela and/or, my favorite example, Molvania (a land untouched by modern dentistry).  Soak in the true so-called attributes of socialism.  Don’t vote for something you haven’t experienced firsthand.  The grass is NOT greener on the other side of the fence.

As a country of freedom-loving people, we cannot afford to experiment with socialism because the learning curve, while enslaved, takes a minimum of five years before reality sets in.  Adopting socialism is equivalent to a lifelong prison sentence.  You don’t have to worry about where you sleep, what’s for dinner, what to wear, what to do each day, etc.  All you have to do is what you are told 24 hours a day, every day of each year.

After 27 years as a front-line officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, I know what I talking about.  I have met with, dealt with, talked with, disagreed with, partied with, and even fought against Socialists and Communists.  I befriended a number of them and even know their families.  I do not consider myself an expert on socialism/communism, but I know enough to warn you that it is the worst thing that could happen to our country.  It is not like a suit or a dress you try on to see if you like.  Even if you are able to get rid of it later, you are scared for life.

In case you don’t agree with my point of view, I refer you to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.  She was one of the 20th century’s greatest world leaders.  She served as prime minister of the United Kingdom for an amazing 12 years (1979-1990).  She passed away April 8, 2013, but, Joe Biden, who can’t remember if he is running for president or a U.S. Senate seat, believes Ms. Thatcher is still alive, having referred to her in the present tense on more than one occasion.

In 1976, Ms. Thatcher made the following remarks.  It is one of the best indictments of socialism I have ever read.

Begin quote: “One of our principal and continuing priorities when we are returned to office will be to restore the freedoms which the Socialists have usurped.  Let them learn that it is not a function of the State to possess as much as possible.  It is not a function of the State to grab as much as it can get away with.  It not a function of the State to act as a ring-master, to crack the whip, dictate the load which all of us must carry or say how high we may climb.  It is not the function of the State to ensure that no one climbs higher than anyone else.  All that is the philosophy of socialism.  We reject it utterly for, however well-intended. It leads in one direction only; to the erosion and finally the destruction of the democratic way of life.”  END QUOTE.

When it comes to socialism, truer words were never spoken.  On a different occasion, she also made this now-often repeated definitive remark about socialism; i.e., “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”  And, the 110-page Socialist manifesto written by American socialist Bernie Sanders and adopted by foggy-minded Joe Biden, is a perfect example of what Margaret Thatcher was talking about. It will take all of our money to carry out, and then some. And, it will still fail.  If you want to see an unrealistic political platform, get a copy of the manifesto and read it.

Speaking of reading, I refer you to a recent number one best-selling book in America, authored by Sean Hannity, a popular nationally syndicated radio talk-show host and the anchor host of a highly-rated nightly (Monday-Friday) Fox TV cable news show.  The 342-page book is appropriately entitled “Live Free or Die - America and the World on the Brink.”  The book centers on the importance of the current election and the fact that our future as a free country clearly hangs in the balance.  Along with providing additional legitimacy to what I have been addressing in my weekly articles, the book gives added urgency to the need to vote for America; i.e. Donald Trump, not the hijacked Democrat Party’s presidential and congressional candidates.  I had forgotten the above-noted words to Margret Thatcher’s 1976 remarks, but I found them on page 111 of Hannity’s noted best-selling book.  There is a great deal of important information Hannity’s  in the book.  I urge you to get a  copy.  It is an important read!

Before I close my article, and in support of my remarks that to see the future we must look to our past, I have one more important quote for you to consider.  It was made by George Santayana, a highly regarded writer and philosopher of yesteryear; i.e., “If we don’t learn from the past, we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over.”

We twice made the mistake of electing Barrack Obama and Joe Biden as our president and vice president.  We corrected that mistake, in 2016, when we voted for America and elected President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.  Let’s emphasize that correction by again voting for America and returning President Trump and Vice President Pence to the White House for a well-deserved second four-year term.  To do otherwise would be a catastrophic mistake that will adversely affect future American generations.  Vote for America!

That is my opinion.

God Bless America!
