Addeane Howell Smith, 89, passed away July 18, 2019, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Sparta, to Vermal Cope Howell and Jennie Mae Kinnaird Howell.
She enjoyed her nursing career at White County Hospital, in public health, and at NHC Healthcare of Sparta.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arvil Dillon Smith; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, L.C. “Lemon” Smith and Maude Elrod Smith.
She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Charlotte Holman, Shelley Dodson, Royce and Donna Smith, Rebecca Adcock, Jane and Donnie Strickland, Ron and Holly Smith; grandchildren, Valarie, Rob, Heather, Jason, Jonathan, Jimmy, Rachel, Josh, David, Jay, Elijah; numerous great-grandchildren; and many close family members and friends.
A special thank you is extended to all staff at Life Care Center of Sparta and Pistole Baptist Church family.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m., July 23, 2019, at Pistole Baptist Church, with burial in Elrod Cemetery. Bro. Clint Walker and Mrs. Smith’s grandson, Jonathan Smith, will officiate. The family will receive friends noon-4 p.m., July 23, at the church.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Elrod Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 551, Sparta, Tennessee 38583.
