White County Assessor of Property receives three awards

Team effort with his staff to serve White County

There are several offices in the White County Courthouse the majority of the county’s residents may never visit because the majority of the work that is performed there is “behind the scenes” despite being an intricate part of what keeps the county running on a daily basis.

The White County Assessor of Property’s office may be one of those offices.  However, the work that Junior Jones, the White County Assessor of Property, and his staff do on a daily basis was recognized and awarded.

The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers (TNAAO) recognized Jones as the 2022 Middle Tennessee Assessor of the Year. Jones and his team also received the Three Star Certification Award for 2022 and received the 2022 District 4 Leadership Award for exemplifying the highest standards of professional, service, and leadership.

“Mr. Jones is one of the most professional public servants I know. He treats everyone with courtesy and respect,” White County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said. “He makes sure everyone’s property is valued in a fair and responsible manner. Mr. Jones works hard for the citizens and is always giving back to the community to better the people here.”

As for Jones, he said the award came as a surprise and that he was honored to receive it, but he was quick to point out that it wasn’t his alone, saying he couldn’t do his job without the significant help of the staff that works alongside him every day.

Jones said, “My team and I are extremely honored and humbled by the recognition of these awards, and we will never forget who we work for – the people of Sparta and White County.”
