Barry Bradley Cooper, 69, of Sparta, while at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital, in Sparta, went to be with the Lord, on Oct. 16, 2020.  

Mr. Cooper was born May 11, 1951, in Nashville. He was the son John Nathan Cooper and Jane Bradley Harrison.

In Mr. Cooper’s life, he enjoyed cattle and horses. He enjoyed working with young people. His favorite hobby was roping. He enjoyed writing poetry and educational information for youth and eventually wrote a book titled "Blackie Goes to School." He earned the name Cowboy Poet of Tennessee.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his father, John Nathan Cooper; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his mother, Jane Bradley Harrison, of Sparta; sisters, Cyndi J. Murdock, of Cookeville, Susan Cooper, of McMinnville; special friend, Nelda Gross, of Sparta; niece, Aminee M. Cumby and husband Justin, of Cookeville; great-nieces, Lakyn Jane Cumby, London Grace Cumby, both of Cookeville; and many friends and neighbors.

A private service will be at a later date.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
