God’s special angel, Beatrice Broom Wilson, affectionately known by family and friends as “Bea,” passed away unexpectedly, on July 23, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Bea was born in the DeRossett community of White County, on Dec. 20, 1933, to Lester Lee Broom and Nellie Mae Brock Broom.
She had a work career that spanned from the shirt factories to ultimately retiring from Wagner. She loved to go on cruises and was the unofficial family photographer. She loved her family and being with people; her life told her story. She loved her Lord and prayed for everyone. Her last words were, “Jesus help me.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Wilson, who died April 16, 2014; sister, Jeanette Bryant; nephew, Steven Broom; nieces, Sherry Broom, Belinda Bryant; sister-in-law, Janie Broom; and brother-in-law, Don White.
Survivors include her brothers Wilbert (Marie) Broom, Jack Broom, John Broom; sister, Judy White; nieces and nephews, Leann (Lewis) Qualls, Lisa Broom, Kristie White, Jason (Amanda) White, Cyndee (Matt McClain); brother-in-law, Kermit (Gwen) Wilson; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., July 25, 2022, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Roger McCann will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., July 25, at the funeral home.
Jason White, Lewis Qualls, Thomas Rollins, Greg Wilson, Matt McClain, and Christian McClain will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Jack Broom, John Broom, Wilbert Broom, Ronnie Brock, Donnie Brock, and Kermit Wilson .
