Betty Hutchings, 84, of Cleveland, passed peacefully, on May 16, 2021, with her daughter by her side.
Born in Sparta, on Sept 18, 1936, Mrs. Hutchings was the daughter of Frank B. Carter and Novella Hattie Frazier.
Mrs. Hutchings was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church, and she loved and cherished her circle of friends there. She had an unwavering faith in God and Jesus. No matter how dark times got, she would always say, “It will all work out if we pray about it.” She also enjoyed arts and crafts, old-time gospel music, coloring, and her greatest passion was reading. She always had a book by her side. We will all miss her sweet nature and gentle spirit.
Mrs. Hutchings was preceded in death by her loving husband, Boyd H. Hutchings; her son, Boyd Alan "Hutch" Hutchings; her three sisters, Jean Padgett, Linda Broyles, Frances Jolley;, and her beloved dog, Molly B., who brought her so much joy in this life.
She is survived by her daughter, Erica M. Hutchings, of Washington D.C.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hearth Hospice, Morningside of Cleveland, and Bradley Healthcare who took such good care of her. A special thanks is also extended to every friend who touched her life.
A graveside service was 11 a.m., May 20, 2021, at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Guinn Green officiating.
