Cadets of the Month

On Dec. 14, 2022, White County High School JROTC held their Cadet of the Month Board and selected two cadets as recipients of the December Cadet of the Month honors.

Competing Cadets were selected by their respective Cadet Chain of Command and approved by the JROTC Instructors to be allowed to compete. Cadets were then graded on several areas to include uniform inspection, individual drill, and answering Cadet knowledge questions.

Cadet Cpl. Jonathon Binkley was awarded the WCHS JROTC Cadet of the Month for the First-Year Cadet for December 2022. Cadet Binkley is very active in JROTC as he is a member of the JROTC Color Guard and recently earned his Color Guard shoulder cord for participating in 12 separate Color Guard events.  Additionally, he participates on the JROTC Raider and Drill Team, and he was also selected to serve as the guidon bearer for Charlie Company during the Spring 2023 semester.

Cadet Cpl. Gabriel Clark was selected as the second-year Cadet of the Month for December 2022. Cadet Clark is Team Leader in Bravo Company and was selected to serve as a Platoon Leader during the Spring 2023 semester. Cadet Clark previously participated as a member of the JROTC Rifle Marksmanship and Raider Team and was awarded the JROTC Superior Cadet Medal as a freshman in JROTC. Cadet Clark runs track and plays soccer for WCHS.

“Both of these Cadets are the most outstanding examples of WCHS JROTC Cadets,” Lt. Col. Aaron J. Johnson, U.S. Army, Senior Army Instructor, said. “Congratulations, guys!”
