On Nov. 23, 2022, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Division arrested Robert Carper Jr.

According to a press release issued by PCSO, the arrest resulted from a traffic stop, on Jan. 26, 2022, where Carper was allegedly in possession of approximately 7.44 ounces of methamphetamine. This amount of methamphetamine has an approximate street value of $6,000.

Carper reportedly was a suspect in illegal drug activity prior to his arrest by the PCSO Drug Division. As part of the investigation, the PCSO requested assistance from the Cookeville City Police Department in the traffic stop conducted on Carper, which resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and a firearm. Law enforcement was also made aware during the traffic stop that Carper had active arrest warrants in both Putnam and Overton counties. Carper reportedly also has a previous lengthy criminal arrest history for illegal drugs, including methamphetamine. He was also reportedly on probation for illegal drug charges.

Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris stated, “I am pleased with the efforts of the PCSO Drug Division and the cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.”
