Cathy Irene Parks Lance, 65, of Crossville, passed away April 3, 2024, at Cumberland Medical Center, in Crossville.
Cathy was born July 13, 1958, in Crossville, to Bobby Lee and Donna Irene Emerton Parks.
She was a former seamstress and a founder and owner of Cumberland Roofing, alongside her husband. She was instrumental in operating the business, from running the office to making sure materials were delivered to the job sites. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her flower beds. She enjoyed fishing, flea markets, and yard sales. Her competitive spirit came out during one of her favorite pastimes of playing Bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Parks, and a special aunt, Leona Sherrill.
Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband, Leslie Lance; two sons, Joseph Johnson and wife Stefanie, of Crossville, William Lance, of Crossville; two stepsons, Junior Lance, of Sparta, Brian Lance, of Madisonville; siblings, Elaine Qualls (Dave Caldwell), of Sparta, Mary Headerick, Charlotte Ladd and husband Harold, Charlie Parks and wife Teresa, all of Georgia;
grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Abigail, Matthew, Brooklyn, Brian, Haley; two great-grandchildren; aunt, Dorothy Blaylock and husband James, of Sparta; special friend, Nancy Margeson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., April 6, 2024, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Mike Garrett officiated.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
