Charles Allen Pinegar, best known as Allen to his family, friends, and customers, 82 of Sparta, passed away June 4, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Pinegar was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to Amos Floyd Pinegar and Vina Mae Griffin Pinegar.

He served customers of the Upper Cumberland for 51 years as an Electrolux vacuum salesman and took great pride in providing excellent service for his clients. When Electrolux closed their store, in Cookeville, he began selling the vacuums and accessories from his home. Even while dealing with his illness, his phone was with him in the hospital in case a customer was in need. Allen’s great customer care was evident by the trips he won around the world from Electrolux. However, he would not travel over the ocean because he did not want to be that far away from his customers. When he was not working, he was a gentleman farmer and kept a meticulous lawn. He had a passion for classic cars and loved watching the classic car auctions on television. He even had the opportunity to go to a Barrett-Jackson Auction a few years ago.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Lee Pinegar.

Surviving family members include his wife of 52 years, Wanda Pinegar; daughter, Tammy Anderson and husband Jim; son, Chris Pinegar; and grandchildren, Matt Anderson, Tyler Pinegar, Austin Pinegar, Emily Anderson.

Funeral service was 2 p.m.,  June 6, 2021, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Saylors Cemetery. Kerry Higgins officiated.

Tyler Pinegar, Matt Anderson, Austin Pinegar, Jim Anderson, Steve Smith, and Carl Lafever served as pallbearers.

Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
