Charles Edward Holman, 81, of Walling, passed away Sept. 2, 2020, in Chattanooga.
Mr. Holman was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Sparta, to Jimmie Holman and Monerva Jane Bryant Holman.
He proudly served his country, in the U.S. Army, and was discharged, in 1964, after serving a tour in Korea. He was a light weapons infantryman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Webb Holman; daughter, Christal Holman; brothers, R.T. Holman, Bobby Holman, James Holman, Clarence Holman, Ray Holman; and sister, Mattie Nation.
Survivors include his daughter, Tonya Holman (Johnny Jones), of Walling; son, Jeremy Holman (fiancée Lora Bassey), of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Savanna Mahan, of Walling, Kendra Reed (Derek), of Gainesboro, C.J. Mahan, of Walling, Jaxson Holman, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Victoria Bassey, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Josiah Bassey of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexandria, Charlie, Kendan, Makenna, Kenley, Nathaniel; sisters, Wilma Bennett (Manuel), Rachel Mabe; brother, Clay Holman (Peggy); and several loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Sept. 6, 2020, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Bro. Bo Hendrix will officiate. The family will receive 1-3 p.m., Sept. 6, at the funeral home.
