Volunteers are needed for Head Start - BonDeCroft and Sparta

Posted

The Foster Grandparent Program is looking for classroom volunteers to help at the Sparta or BonDeCroft Head Start centers. You must be at least 55 years of age, love children, have 15 to 40 hours a week to help, and pass a physical and a fingerprint background check. Your income must be below 200 percent of the poverty level. Volunteers help the children with puzzles, peer interaction, coloring, reading, encouragement, etc. You are provided two meals a day at no charge. You also get a tax-exempt stipend of $3 an hour (cannot be counted as income for any government program), help with transportation, training, sick leave, holiday pay, and annual leave. We also pay for the background check.

If your retirement is not quite what you thought it would be, don't have enough money, or are bored sitting at home, please give Cheryl Pack a call at (877) 928-6488 (office) or (931) 529-0663 (cell) for more information. The office is located at the Cookeville Community Center, at 240 Carlen Ave., in Cookeville.
