Cookeville man dead from gunshot wounds

A Cookeville man is dead after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds in an incident that occurred Aug. 1, in the western portion of Putnam County

According to a press release issued at approximately 9 p.m., Aug. 1, 2022, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 10:30 a.m., Aug. 1, that “a man had been shot.” Putnam County deputies then responded to 1717 Dyer Long Rd., in the western portion of the county, which was reportedly the residence of Amanda Borden.

Upon arrival, deputies found a white male, who was identified as Brent Bogle. Bogle had been shot multiple times. Borden reportedly was not present at the residence when deputies arrived.

According to the press release, Bogle was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center to be treated for the wounds and was later transported to Vanderbilt Hospital. After arriving in Nashville, Bogle died from the gunshot wounds.

Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris stated, “Amanda Borden is wanted for questioning regarding this incident. Borden also has multiple outstanding warrants for Putnam County Juvenile and General Sessions Court. If anyone has any information of her whereabouts, please call the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office at (931) 528-8484.”
