DAR members attend workshop

Posted

On Aug. 7, 2021, the annual DAR workshops were held in Murfreesboro. Rock House chapter members Judy and Lisa Hutchings participated in several workshops to learn more about the organization, leadership positions and meeting new friends.

One interesting workshop covered DNA.  The organization has implemented a program to use DNA when someone wants to join, but proper documentation does not exist.  This program is fairly new but has come a long way in the last couple of years.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War.  DAR is one of the world's largest and most active service organizations, with a commitment to volunteer service as a cornerstone of the organization.
