Darryl Camron Stockton, 56, passed away after a brief illness, on May 21, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Darryl was born Sept. 7, 1965, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Joe Stockton and Kay Alley Stockton.

He was an excellent carpenter, with a loyal following of customers willing to wait years for him to start their projects. They knew the result would be perfection and second to none.

He was known for his great advice in the form of “if it were me, this is what I would do, but you do what you want” or the simple statement he lived by, “Hit it like you live!”

Darryl liked spending time on his farm tending to the cattle, and he enjoyed the outdoors from the seat of his tractor. He was a family man, putting his wife and children before himself. He never minded when Amber and Joseph called needing help with a project (and they called often). He actually enjoyed it!

He loved family meals and Angela’s cooking, and he was the master of the grill. His hamburgers were the best in Cassville!  Darryl also loved “dinner with friends.”  He would drop what he was doing at any time to help a friend in need…that was Darryl.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Kay Alley Stockton.

Darryl is survived by his wife of 27 years, Angela Parker Stockton; father, Joe Stockton (Carolyn Murphy); daughter, Amber Groves and husband Addison; son, Joseph Stockton and wife Brittany; future granddaughter, Oaklyn Marie Stockton; brother, Dale Stockton and wife Theresa; nieces and nephews, Aaron and Chelsea Stockton, Rachel and Matt Baumeister; great-niece and great-nephew, Madaleigh Bel Stockton, Walker

Baumeister; and numerous friends who were like family.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m., May 24, 2022, at Northfield Vineyards. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., May 24, at Northfield Vineyards. Burial will be 10 a.m., May 25, at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Frank Derrick will officiate.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Todd Bohannon, William Collins, Stephen Gribble, Steve McDonald, Robert McDonald, Mark Mitchell, Mark Ray, and Zachary Hampshire.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
