David Kevin Armstrong, 57, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 27, 2024, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, in Murfreesboro.

David was born Jan. 26, 1967, at UT Medical Center, in Knoxville, He was a 33-year employee of Dunn Steel where he worked as a heat treat operator. He was a talented musician known for playing his bass guitar. His weekends were devoted to watching racing, Saturdays at the dirt track, and Sundays with NASCAR on television. David loved his dog, Reckless, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dean "Toad" Armstrong; grandparents, Harold and Chloe Armstrong, Charlie and Gertrude Green; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Mary Young.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Shelia Armstrong, of Sparta; sons, Jordan Armstrong and wife Tiara, of Sparta, Aaron Armstrong, of Cookeville; grandchildren, Zayde, Kingston, and Bexley Armstrong, of Sparta; mother, Joyce Green Armstrong, of Sparta; brothers and their spouses, Jeff and Teresa Armstrong, of Lafollette, Wendell and Connie Armstrong, of Quebeck, Tim and Diane Armstrong, of Sparta, Jason and Darlene Armstrong, of Spencer; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Krystal and Donnie Young, of Sparta, Janie and Kenneth Pierce, of Greensburg, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, and extended family members.

Funeral service was 1 p.m., Dec. 2, 2024, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Anderson Cemetery. Danny Rogers and Noah Armstrong officiated.

Wayne Rogers, Johnny Young, Josh Armstrong, Corey Rogers, Noah Armstrong, Stevie Armstrong, Robbie Armstrong, and Brady Williams served as pallbearers

David's generous spirit as an organ donor has allowed someone an opportunity to live on with David's organ donation.
