Dawn Marie Lautzenheiser, 44, of Sparta, went to be with the Lord, on July 31, 2022.

She was born April 24, 1978, in Canton, Ohio, to Geraldine (Kiko) and Gary L. Lautzenheiser.

She graduated from Louisville School (Louisville, Ohio) and R.G. Drage Vocational School, in Massillon, Ohio, in 1996. She continued her education by graduating from English Nanny School, in Euclid, Ohio, as a professional nanny. She acquired a job with a family in Connecticut for several years, then moved to Pennsylvania and worked with another family. She enjoyed her work with the children.

In 2004, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), but kept working for many years until the disease made it too difficult for her to continue being a nanny.

She moved to South Carolina with her sister for a year, and, in 2010, she moved to Sparta, Tennessee, to be cared for by her parents.

Dawn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bette and Ralph Lautzenheiser, and Ruth and Herbert Kiko, who had resided in Louisville, Ohio, and her father, Gary Lautzenheiser, who had resided in Sparta and passed in 2011.

She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Lautzenheiser, of Sparta; one sister and three brothers, Tonya and Michael Heckendorn, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Brian and Jennifer Lautzenheiser, of Macon, Georgia, Sam and Tanya Lautzenheiser, of Delaware, Ohio, Mark Lautzenheiser of Sparta; nieces and nephews; her best friend since middle school, Kelly (Hawthorne) May, of East Canton, Ohio; and her caregiver for the past four years, Lidia George, of Smithville, Ohio.

Any donations made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in Dawn Lautzenheiser's name, would be appreciated.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
