Dorothy Jean “Dot” Ledford England, 87, of Ravenscroft, passed away Nov. 21, 2021, at her home, on Ravenscroft Road, surrounded by her family.
Dot was born April 1, 1934, in DeRossett, Tennessee, to David Ledford and Clara Belle Brock Ledford.
She married James L. England, on Aug. 4, 1951. Dot worked as a hairdresser for many years and also at Federal Mogul (Wagner) until she retired. She loved working in her flower gardens until the very end.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her brother, James David Ledford; sisters, Ada Chastain, Sue Erney; and daughter-in-law, Betty England.
She is survived by her four children, Bob England (Bertha), Bill England, Bruce England, Beth Adams (Gary); seven grandchildren, Jeniece England, Brent England (Katie), Alisha Gomez (Chava), Chelsea Jagar (Dinesh), Brooke Norrod (Matt), Gale Clark (Ben), Logan Adams (Sadie Hicks); six great-grandchildren: Ana, Bryce, Ella, Winter, Eli, Meadow; and sisters, Louise Eads, Jo Anna Powell (Jerry), Sheila Chadwell, and Connie Wyatt (Kenneth).
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Nov. 24, 2021, at DeRossett Church of Christ, with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Roy Whited will officiate. The family will welcome friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Nov. 24, at the church.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
