Driver appointed to position at Tennessee Fire Marshal’s Office

Jason Driver, a who grew up in White County, where he worked alongside his father in the tobacco fields and construction before finding his true calling in the fire service, has been appointed the director of education and outreach for the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

His journey began at Sparta Fire Department as an Explorer at age 15, and he later became a volunteer firefighter.

In his early 20s, Jason joined the McMinnville Fire Department where he rose to the rank of Engineer/Backup Officer. He later joined the Putnam County Fire Department where he worked as a Firefighter/Engineer alongside a dedicated team of volunteers. Currently, he serves as the Assistant Chief of Doyle Volunteer Fire Department, in White County.

With nearly 30 years of experience in fire service, Driver has gained a deep understanding of both career and volunteer firefighting challenges and opportunities. He is committed to advancing fire safety initiatives and ensuring that Tennessee’s fire departments and emergency responders have the necessary support and resources to protect their communities.

Driver looks forward to working with fire services across the state and the nation to support and strengthen the incredible work they do every day.
