Earl Wayne Davis, 81, of Quebeck, passed away unexpectedly, on April 28, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Davis was born Aug. 30, 1940, in Lancing, Tennessee, to Cos Hobert Davis and Geneva Freels Davis.
He was a longtime member and deacon at Hickory Valley Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International. He loved gospel music and spent much of his life leading congregations in song.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jennie “Rhea” Measles Davis, who died March 28, 2019; and brother, Carl Davis.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mike Hale, of Quebeck; grandchildren, Michael Hale and wife Paulina, Anna-Nicole Hale and fiance’ Tyler Christian; great-grandchild, Ashton Davis Hale; sister, Linda Davis; brother, Cos Davis Jr. and wife Cecilia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., May 1, 2022, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Skurlock Cemtery. The family will receive friends noon-1 p.m., May 1, at the funeral home. John McCord will officiate.
The deacons of Hickory Valley Baptist Church will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John McCord, Larry Thompson, and Tim Farley.
