Election Day 2020

The Right Stuff

Posted

I am going to focus most of this article on Joe Biden, not because I want to but because there is so much to share about him and so little time to do it. Just to get started you do realize that Biden will pack the Supreme Court? Biden cannot accomplish the left-wing agenda his backers desire with a constitutionally respectful Supreme Court. So, he will pack it. Count on it! (His left-wing supporters are!)

Secondly, I don’t know if you have thought of it in this context, but the nation is right now in the process of electing the number two of the previous Democrat officeholder for eight years. Yes, the ticket that used all the levers of power to at first discredit candidate Trump and then impeach President Trump. I ask you seriously, how can it be that almost half of the voting public would vote for a man that betrayed their trust in such a flagrant fashion? More importantly, perhaps, doesn’t the fact that such large numbers of our fellow citizens are willing to overlook such questionable acts... Do they realize what was done?

Last week, Glenn Greenwald, co-creator of a site called The Intercept, resigned from its staff due to censorship. Glenn originally started the site because he was having trouble writing and publishing the story of leaker Edward Snowden. How ironic is it that Glenn resigned from his own site because they refused to allow him to publish his account of Hunter Biden’s nefarious activities hoovering up money for dear old Dad! Not only that, but they did not want him to publish elsewhere under his byline. And Glenn is far from being a right winger. He’s just a liberal that sees clearly and wants to say so. A growing number of actual journalists with promising futures have resigned from well-known publications like The New York Times because they refused to allow the companies to censor their work.

Have we come to the place in America where our citizens no longer wish to hear the truth about current events? Have we come to the point that the populace would rather place in power a man who demonstrably betrayed the public trust and used all the power at his command to undermine an election and then a duly-elected president just because they don’t like the current president’s manner of speaking or his vocabulary choices?

You know, when you look at the latest gross national product number and see it grew by over 33 percent at a time when several of our biggest states remain locked down, there is no rational claim that he is mishandling the economy. Do you realize projections were in the range of 7 percent?

And look at the Chinese virus!  Our current outbreak contains some numbers that might surprise you. As I said last week, the number 220,000 deaths sounds like a lot until you realize we are a nation of 320 million people. Moreover, the present outbreak has a death rate of only .65 percent due to our president’s energic push for viable treatment options. Not only that, but we are about to have not one but several vaccinations to use on our populace! In record time! Can anyone suggest Joe Biden could accomplish anything nearly as good?

When we look at the swine flu outbreak in 2009, with Obama/ Biden at the helm, 60 million Americans came down with that flu in the first year. And let’s look at what the Obama/Biden administration said of their response: “Biden’s coronavirus advisor Ron Klain admitted on tape that Obama-Biden’s response to swine flu was catastrophic: “We did every possible thing wrong... It is purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in American history.” And Joe Biden is criticizing Trump’s response? Why haven’t “responsible” journalists pointed this out? You know why? Ask Glenn Greenwald!

Let’s move on to another of Joe Biden’s claims – that of being a “uniter.” Here’s a quote from his running partner, Barack Obama, “We are going to punish our enemies and reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us.” (Univision radio interview 2010) Or Valerie Jarrett: “For those who supported us, there will be rewards, for the ones who opposed us, they will get what they deserve. There will be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over, and we have two judges ready to go.”

Are these Joe Biden’s buddies that he claims were uniters?

Let us look at one more of Joe Biden’s claims. He is running around talking about his green energy jobs that he is going to create and how much “cleaner” this new world will be. Do you remember Solyndra? That was a factory full of those green jobs Joe is talking about. And like all the rest of Joe’s claims, it disappears under examination. For example, a single electric car battery weighing 1,000 pounds requires extracting and processing some 500,000 pounds of materials.

Averaged over a battery’s life, each mile of driving an electric car “consumes” five pounds of earth. Using an internal combustion engine consumes about 0.2 pounds of liquids per mile.

Just Google anything about the real cost of green energy. The numbers are staggering.

“Look Folks” as Joe would say. (I just walked in on the “Uniter” Joe Biden, wrapping up on TV his drive-in rally.) He spoke about how Donald Trump doesn’t care about COVID deaths, and Trump is trying to repress the vote. Joe vaguely hints all Trump’s voters are racist and winds up with his line about, “Donald Trump thinks windmills cause cancer.” Please.

Joe Biden’s speeches are full of clichés and a lot of emotional statements. My old daddy taught me years ago when someone is messing with your emotions, be careful they don’t take advantage. They are upsetting you for a reason. Don’t get caught up in such sales tricks. Your thoughts might be dryly realistic while the slogans and catch phrases are so much more appealing, but which is more accurate? How many of those windmill photos picture some of the 140,000-328,000 birds piled dead around the bottom? That estimate comes from Smithsonian Magazine - not exactly a crazy right wing operation!

This is old news to most of us. It’s why we believe what we believe. I have another page of notes on all this and no room here. The question we are faced with is can we engage and change hearts and minds before it’s too late? What words can we use that are persuasive? There are more facts out there available than most people will ever take time to read. The best thing we can do with many is just try to install doubts and answers. If we can get people questioning, they will soon find the answer. For now, just make sure every conservative you can find goes to the polls and votes! And God save the nation!
