Erby Gene Walker, 84, was granted release from the sorrows and pains of this world to be with the Father, on July 17, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, from injuries received in an ATV accident, by mercy of our Lord God.

Mr. Walker was born Aug. 11, 1934, in White County, to David “Dave” Lester Walker and Lala Weaver Walker.

He served his country in the U.S. Army. He also worked and retired from Thomas Industries.

Erby enjoyed working on the farm and being with his friends and family, especially his grandson Ethan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Sue Walker; son, David Gene Walker; and sister, Retha Walker Williams.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Connie Walker, of Sparta, Kitty Walker Fehrman and husband B.J., of Sparta; grandson, Ethan Hall and fiancée Samantha Giaculli, of Evansville, Indiana; nephew, Blake Williams and wife Kimberly, of Sparta; a special niece who helped him in many ways, Katie Burton; two dogs, Shadow and his great-grandpup, Colt; and cows, the bull, and several calves.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., July 22, 2018, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Copeland Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Henry Lynn will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., July 21, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Hall, Mike Hall, J.T. Flowers, Jim Celi, Earl Holloway, Steve Dodson, Blake Williams, and Darrell Burton.

Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
