FFA Breakfast at the Barn and Auction, Sept. 11

Posted

On Sept. 11, 2021, the White County FFA Chapter hosted a breakfast and auction at their barn on the campus of White County High School. Early Saturday morning, members and volunteers showed up to the FFA Barn to prepare for this memorable event. At 7 a.m., with the welcoming doors of the barn open, people of the community were quickly showing up to support and partake in this event. In memory of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the White County FFA Chapter had a small memorial service. At 7:46 a.m., in remembrance of the first attack on the Twin Towers, FFA president Abby McCulley gave a commemorative speech about 9/11. Following this, the White County JROTC Color Guard presented the colors with FFA vice president Kaleb Prater leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Next, FFA reporter Daniel Austin led everyone in a prayer and moment of silence. To conclude the ceremony, FFA member Kassidy Hubert led everyone in the singing of the National Anthem. People of the community continued to show up in support of FFA and to fellowship with friends and family. At 9 a.m., FFA started their auction. Clarence Tays, of Tays Realty and Auction, actioned off items right and left while cracking jokes in between. The auction, which took a couple of hours to conduct, included an assortment of agricultural supplies, clothing, and two of FFA’s own calves.

The White County FFA Chapter would like to thank its members and volunteers for helping make this event possible. The Chapter would also like to thank its sponsors for supporting and donating to the Chapter in this event. The Chapter greatly appreciates the community of White County for their generous support and participation for the Breakfast At The Barn.
