Floyd Bransford England, 92, a native and life-long resident of the Macedonia community of White County, passed away July 19, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. England was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Macedonia to Henry Marcum England and Maggie Narcissa Brown England.

He had a long career as an electrician that began at the early age of 17 when he wired his family’s home for electricity, with the aid of an experienced electrician. He went on to work for 40 years and 40 days as an electrical inspector.

Mr. England was ordained into ministry, on Sept. 25, 1960, at Macedonia Baptist Church. During his many years of ministry, he helped with the organization of several Baptist churches, ordained a host of ministers, conducted over 70 weddings, and held countless funerals for people thereby helping families who had lost loved ones both young and old. Mr. England received his "Doctor of Divinity" from Faith Baptist Institute and Bible College in Reseca, Georgia, on May 16, 2003, and remained active in his ministry until 2011.

When Mr. England was not doing electrical work or serving his ministry, he was active on his farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dimple England Bilbrey, Dora Lou England Bandy Selby; and daughter-in-law, Rita Slatten England.

Surviving family members include his wife of 69 years, Ruth Helon England, of Sparta; three sons, Joe B. (Kathy) England, of White County, Henry L. England, of Quebeck, Gerald (Rebecca) England, of Sparta; grandchildren, Tracy (Bill) Fowler, Tonya (Ronnie) Rogers, of White County, Carol (Michael) McIntyre, of Columbus, Missouri, Heather (Christopher) Mullins, Christie (Roger) Buck, of White County, Brandie (Mitchell) Stephens, of Monticello, Kentucky, Joy (Andy) Golden, of White County, Joshua (Tiffany) England, of Grimsley, Dale Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Kayla) England, Alissa England, Bransford Patterson, Brianna (John Tyler) Mitchell, Joseph Matlock, Jacob (Victoria) Bouldin, Nicklous Bouldin, Amber (Justin) Little, Abie Gail Stephens, Tanner Stephens, Eli Stephens, Jessland Stephens, Laura Stephens, Lillie England, Corbin England, Carter Floyd England, Emillie Golden, Bryer Golden, Callie Golden, Cadence Little, Isaac Little, Aiden Mullins, Marin McIntyre, Nathan McIntyre; great-great-grandchildren, Brycen Patterson, Briley Denton, Ezra Mitchell, Addison Bouldin, Kayler England; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., July 21, 2019, at Macedonia Baptist Church, with burial in Saylors Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m., July 20, at the church, and after 11 a.m., July 21, at the church. Joe England, Joshua England, Gerald England, Jeff Howard, and Roger Buck will officiate.

Bransford Patterson, Joseph Matlock, Jacob Bouldin, Taylor England, Tanner Stephens, and Bryer Golden will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Eli Stephens, Nick Bouldin, and Aiden Mullins.
