Sophomore Gabriel Clark is using his time at White County High School to set himself up for a successful future that is sure to be full of challenges and experiences that will push him to excel in all areas of life.

Clark, who has a 4.0 grade point average and is a part of WCHS’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program of study, is a member of the JROTC program and earned the distinction of being recognized as a Superior Cadet for the 2021-22 school year.

The second-year cadet, who now holds the rank of corporal, said he envisions a future after high school in which he will enroll in the United States Army and then use his GI Bill to attend college where he would like to pursue an engineering and/or business degree.

While Clark isn’t a huge fan of homework, he understands that necessity of practicing, studying, and pushing himself to learn all that he can while at White County High School. Clark said his favorite thing about WCHS is that the faculty and staff are committed to helping him achieve his goals, and he appreciates the way they work with him toward those goals on a daily basis.

Clark, who is also a member of the Warrior soccer team playing defensive back, enjoys both playing and watching sports as well as traveling and hiking in his spare time, so a stint with the United States Army should fit into his lifestyle quite nicely.

“Gabe is a student who works hard and demands the best of himself. He hasn’t been afraid to try new things,” White County teacher and soccer coach said about Clark. “I think that he will succeed in his future.”
