Gordon Harris Bumbalough, 82, of Loganville, Georgia, formerly of Sparta and a longtime resident of Florida, passed away July 13, 2019, at Park Place Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, in Georgia.

Mr. Bumbalough was born March 22, 1937, in Sparta, to Henry Garfield Bumbalough and Daisy Phy Bumbalough.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He operated front- end loaders and bulldozers in the orange groves of Florida for 40 years.

Mr. Bumbalough was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lola Mae "Betty" Bumbalough; 12 brothers; and eight sisters

Survivors include his two daughters, Barbara Bumbalough (Dean) Bender, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sandra Bumbalough (Duane) Day, of Loganville, Georgia; five grandsons, Will, Kenneth, Bryant, Russell, Blake; six great-grandchildren, Reign, Kennedy, Carter, Holland, Molly Bryson; brother, Marion Bumbalough; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., July 18, 2019, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 11 a.m-2 p.m., July 18, at the funeral home.

Duane Day, Kenneth Day, Blake Day, Dean Bender, Will Daniels, and Bryant Bender will serve as pallbearers.
